A Four-Week Jungian Series | May 2026

Thursday, May 7, 14, 21, 28 | 12:00 to 1:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom) | Small group
This first Salon offering is part of an ongoing series of small-group gatherings exploring Jungian psychology in lived experience.
“The world hangs by a thin thread, and that is the psyche of [hu]man.” — C. G. Jung
We are living in a time when that thread feels increasingly strained.
There is a growing sense of uncertainty—of fragmentation, of disconnection, of not quite knowing what is true or where to orient ourselves. Without entering into politics, it is clear that many are feeling the psychological weight of a world in tension.
C. G. Jung (1875–1961), a Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, devoted his life to understanding the structure and dynamics of the psyche—not as abstract theory, but as a living reality shaping how we perceive, feel, and make meaning.
He saw that when we lose contact with this inner dimension, we begin to feel unmoored.
This salon is an invitation to begin restoring that relationship.
The Approach
This is not a lecture series, and not a traditional class.
The Salon is a facilitated, small-group discussion led by Dr. Anne Taylor. Each session introduces a theme and opens into shared reflection and dialogue—allowing insight to emerge through lived experience, not only through concept.
Our initial orientation draws from the work of Jungian analyst Murray Stein, whose book Map of the Soul offers a clear and accessible framework for understanding the psyche.
Dr. Stein (Ph.D., University of Chicago; Diploma, C.G. Jung Institute–Zurich) is a former president of the International Association for Analytical Psychology and a widely respected teacher of Jungian thought.
A Working Map of the Psyche
Stein’s model introduces key dimensions of Jung’s psychology, including:
- Ego and consciousness
- Complexes and the “populated” inner world
- Psychic energy (libido)
- Instincts, archetypes, and the collective unconscious
- Persona and shadow in relationship
- Anima and animus as bridges to the deeper psyche
- The Self as a center of wholeness
- Individuation as a lifelong process
- Synchronicity and the question of meaning across time
We will not attempt to cover all of these in four weeks.
Rather, this series offers a beginning—a shared foundation.
If the group continues, these themes can unfold more fully over time.
What This Work Offers
- A grounded introduction to Jungian psychology in today’s world
- A deeper understanding of the psyche and its role in experience
- A developing sensitivity to symbolic and psychological patterns
- A small, consistent group for meaningful conversation
- A space to think, reflect, and reconnect with inner life
A Beginning
We do not begin with the most esoteric aspects of Jung’s work.
We begin where we are—with the simple, profound task of becoming more familiar with the psyche itself.
From this foundation, deeper layers can unfold organically.
Registration
Space is limited to maintain a small and engaged group.
This four-week Salon is offered on a sliding scale of $19–$99, with a suggested contribution of $49.
Please choose the level that feels appropriate and sustainable for you.
